INTERIM REPORTS
District Station Boundaries Analysis
The Controller's Office, City Services Auditor and Public Safety Strategies Group are pleased to share an interim report on the assessment of police district boundaries pursuant to Administrative Code Sec.2A.86. The purpose of the interim report is to discuss national strategies for district boundary assessments and provide lessons learned from assessments in five comparison jurisdictions. The report also provides a high-level overview of the police districts as they are currently drawn in San Francisco. A final report applying the lessons learned and an analysis of crime rates, district staffing, and survey responses related to San Francisco’s boundaries will be issued in May. The final report will also identify strategies for establishing police district boundaries which optimize service delivery and enhance public safety. Click here to download the interim report. LEGISLATION
- In January of 2007, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed legislation that specifies pilot foot patrol locations, times, and an assessment of the pilot program. See the legislation
- In September of 2006, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed legislation requiring the review of Police District boundaries.
